HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION

COURTHOUSE

In 2001 the Nisqually Earthquake damaged the historic Grays Harbor County Courthouse in Montesano, Washington. I organized and helped execute a conditions assessment and documentation for repair of stone elements and interior plaster. I also created drawings for the reconstruction of the historic copper dome from on-site measurements.

While with Leavengood Architects.

THEATRE

I performed a conditions assessment and developed a report for this historic movie theatre that is one of only a few remaining examples of movie palaces of the early 20th century in Oregon. The building was in need of repairs as well as accessibility and seismic upgrades. Because the building was owned and operated by non-profit Film Action Oregon, it was critical to understand phasing opportunities to allow for fundraising efforts. I worked closely with the client and presented the proposed project to local groups interested in historic preservation. While with Hacker Architects.

CAPITAL
CAMPUS

I assisted with an on-site conditions assessment and report for multiple capital campus buildings for the State of Washington in Olympia, Washington. In addition I was tasked with figuring out a location for an access hole in the double shell of the main dome of the Capitol building to provide access for maintenance of the gutter at the base of the dome. Performed in 2000 while with Leavengood Architects.
