RESIDENTIAL

LAKESIDE

Renovation of a historic house designed by Paul Thiry on the shore of Lake Washington in Washington State.

After some uninspired 1970s renovations that left the house dark and inhospitable the client wished to bring the English Cottage back to a more traditional look on the interior. This included renovations to the entry and living room, kitchen, guest bathroom, master suite, and a new stair hall that was added with a vaulted ceiling to bring more light into the second floor. I worked closely with the client and contractor to create a traditional look with many custom wood details. I filled the role of Architectural Designer while with Leavengood Architects.

CITY

Exterior paint scheme and kitchen remodel for a single family home in Portland, Oregon.

The kitchen remodel involved removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room and reconfiguring the cabinetry to revise the circulation pattern to get a u-shape work flow with peninsula, stove and refrigerator. Semi-custom cabinetry was used to get a custom look while using off the shelf sizes to save money. The minimal use of upper cabinets makes the kitchen feel more spacious and connects it seamlessly to the dining area. I served as Project Architect and Project Manager.

ISLAND

This guest house and garage is new construction in a traditional style on the island of San Juan. The house featured natural stone facade. The house and the site interventions work with the topology of the site to create a nestled and cozy retreat. I served as  Architectural Designer while with Leavengood Architects. A new house in downtown Telluride, Colorado. This house needed to meet design guidelines for the town of Telluride as well as meet structural requirements for the foundation as the house sits in a 100 year flood plain. I served as Architectural Designer while with Leavengood Architects.
